Tomorrow morning Stuart will take off at 5am to conquer 100 miles at the Hundred in the Hood. The plan is that I will wait for him at Olallie Meadows Campground. (mile 75) and be his pacer to the end. (101 and some change) By the time he rolls through mile 75 darkness will have fallen and we will (should) be done before it is light again.
I've have had a very sore foot all week so I've run very little on it. (except for at cross-country practices while coaching) It just hasn't seemed to respond well to rest---until today. I feel better today. I really do think it will be fine. I haven't decided what will be best for shoes or insoles yet so I will bring a combination with me and hope to make a wise decision tomorrow.
The whole family was going to make the trip but everyone has commitments (some last minute snags), so it will be just my husband driving me in to the aid station with my two youngest girls. (And then they will be waiting at the finish.)
I'm hoping to take no spills running in the dark. I've never run that many hours in the dark and on trails.
I like to be "in control" of as many variables as possible and there are a bunch of them, so that makes me nervous. ;-) But it's all good--part of living right?
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great time! Sounds like an adventure. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's 10:36 as I write this. Stuart's been running about 17 hours now and you should just about be linking up now. I know it will go well and I hope to read your report soon. Take care.
